She definitely disliked her.
Misa touched her lips softly with her fingertips and felt a burning sensation run all through her body. She could still feel the pressure of Hope's lips pushing against hers lingering on the surface of her mouth. She blushed and recalled the brief moment that she felt the tingle of her breath tickling her face, their noses slightly bumping into each other clumsily as she moved in to close the gap between them.
Misa fumed quietly in both embarrassment and anger.
How dare she! Kissing her lips, the lips that were saved especially and only for Light. Only he was allowed to do that. What made that freak think that she could defile her like that? Light was hers and she was his. No one else's.
After she and Light had started going out, Misa had promised to herself that he would be the only one who was allowed to do things like that to her; to hold her, touch her and kissed her the way he pleased. But now, that very promise had just been snapped into half, flung onto the ground and stomped on, all because of that insufferable stony-faced girl. And the worst thing? Light himself was there to see it all with his own eyes! Misa could've slaughtered herself with her own Death Note that very second.
Misa clenched her tiny fists and made a mental note to put Hope straight onto her 'People-To-Watch-Out-For' list.
"Oooooh! That stupid, stupid bone-head! Misa could just.... Ugh!" the petite blond raged, her hands trembling and ready to strike the next living thing that came even within a 5-meter radius around her.
Luckily for Rem, Misa's white, skeletal Shinigami that was currently floating behind her back and watching her in the most nonchalant way a Death God could muster, it was a well-known fact that Shinigamis' could not really feel any pain by any mortal's means.
"Misa," Rem finally spoke in a low raspy tone, temporarily breaking Misa's long string of livid ranting. "I do not mean to interrupt, but you have been going on about this for quite a while now. Don't you think that it is enough?"
"No!" Misa turned around and tired to glare at the bony figure looming over her. "Does Rem know what she is talking about? It is not enough! Do you know what that impossible girl did?! She-"
"She kissed you." Rem completed Misa's sentence with a sigh. Her yellow Shinigami eyes stared at Misa unblinkingly, with an expression of unchanging dullness. "You humans tend to making the biggest fuss over the smallest things. Is it really such a big deal?"
"Of course it's a big deal!" Misa wasted no time protesting, without even a second thought. She threw herself onto the green couch and glowered angrily up at the ceiling, as if it was the cause of her frustration. "Misa-Misa was kissed by a girl. It's wrong. It's disgusting! It's..."
"It was a game." Rem interjected bluntly.
"Hmpf!" Misa sulked stubbornly, getting into a sitting position and sticking her chin out to prove how unsatisfied she was at the reason. "Still! She touched Misa-Misa's lips! Only Light-kun can touch Misa-Misa's lips! That's totally unfair! Misa thinks Hope-san is a vulgar person."
Rem gave a roll of her cat-like eyes but did not say more. She knew better than to try to reason with Misa's logic. Misa crossed her arms in discontent and sulked more. It had been about three hours since she retreated from the scene and she was getting a bit bored of making a fuss. Yet, she simply refused to let Hope get away with what she did.
"You know what?" Misa suddenly said to her Shinigami, pushing herself off the couch and onto her feet. "Misa's going to give that creep a piece of my mind right now!" With that, she proceeded to stalk out of the room while Rem watched her go, feeling a bit worried about what her overreacting might result in.
After poking her head into several rooms and failing to find a certain emotionless female detective, Misa finally decided to make her way to the investigation area where she spotted her target flipping through a stack of papers in a folder, a relaxed pace about her.
With an undaunted confidence, Misa plodded her way towards her prey, a mental script of long, unkind words stored inside of her head, ready to fire at any given moment. She folded her arms pettily and stood in front of her, peering down at her match with the nastiest glare she managed to will up and waited for Hope to notice her presence. Which the latter did accomplish, without taking the initiative to even bother sparing a glance upwards at the enraged idol.
"Hello, Amane-san." she greeted in an unenthusiastic murmur, grabbing a pen to correct some errors in a autopsy report of a random murder victim. Misa hardened her glare as Hope continued to refuse to meet her gaze, scribbling away with disregard.
"You... you... Misa-Misa has something important to say!" she snapped sharply in a voice full of growing frustration. At last, Hope laid down her pen onto the desk and offered Misa a belated gaze, her emotionless expression never faltering.
"Yes?" She looked at her so calmly, so coolly, intense dark eyes piercing her with that very see-through stare that Misa-Misa despised. Misa found herself shivering inwardly, a wave of nervousness overtaking her being. How she hated that look. Almost all at once, the confidence and fiery determination that Misa felt before slipped down the drain in an unexpected instance, leaving her with a blank mind, frozen and speechless. What happened to all that previous passion?
The young adult could feel herself fumbling for words in front of the supposedly younger female, her face growing hotter and hotter by the second.
"I...You...Misa... Why don't you--... Umm...." she spluttered in inaudible grumbles, nearly feeling light-headed from sheer embarrassment. She scolded herself mentally, knowing that this was not the way things were suppose to turn out. Hope was looking at her as if she was being told a joke that she didn't get.
"....Yes?" she inquired once again, observing the blush that was slowly spreading to Misa's ears in silent bemusement. She did not understand what was the point of Misa's sudden interaction, although it was admittedly entertaining to an extent.
Upon her pressurized state, the blond blurted out something that was totally uncalled for and would most likely haunt her for the rest of her life.
"Let's be friends."
...What the hell...? WHAT THE HELL?!
Her ocean eyes nearly popped out of their sockets. The words had escaped her mouth in a flurry before she could stop them and Misa was left to gape in pure terror at what she just unintentionally let slipped out. And to make matters worse, her body was unhelpfully glued into place and all she could do was stare back and glow with a redness that could easily rival Rudolph The Reindeer's shiny, bright nose.
Then, Misa made a small side conclusion: if there was ever a better moment to slaughter herself with her Death Note than before, it would most probably be right then.
